Mexican
CuisineJoin us for an adventure in experiencing new exotic flavors and
tastes. Learn to add to your repertoire of savory delicious foods for you and
your loved ones to enjoy. Together we will explore the (mercado) local market
in Tepoztlán to learn about the local ingredients, exotic fruits, and savory
treats used in Mexican cooking. As you will quickly observe while staying
in Tepoztlán salsas (sauces) are placed on the table for every meal. We
will create salsas that you can use to accompany and add that "extra zip"
to all of your meals. While you walk through town, notice the women carrying
their buckets of dried corn kernels or buckets of masa (corn dough). They are
taking the dried corn to the local mill for grinding into masa for tortillas.
Tortillas, the corn staple of the Mexican diet can be filled with really just
about anything; meats, chicken, cheese, vegetables, rice and of course salsa.
Enjoy the versatility of tortillas as we produce an assortment of fillings for
our meal. Each cuisine class is designed for the level you feel comfortable
with and is for food enthusiasts of all levels of expertise. Each class is different
and will address the participant's individual preferences and interests. Cost
is $75.00 US per person which includes your homemade afternoon meal. Our class
time varies so please leave yourself 4 to 5 hours to complete your course. Tuition
is limited to six participants. For a one person class the cost is $100.
